Smyrna Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested
Police say the woman's friends saw the reports on local media and convinced her to turn herself in.

A Smyrna woman turned herself into police after friends told her she had been caught on camera clipping a patrol car and then driving away, police said Friday.
Keri Jan Cheek was at a Citgo gas station on Monday while police were investigating a disturbance, police said. As she was driving away from the gas station, her vehicle struck a Smyrna police car. Instead of stopping and informing the officers as to what happened, Cheek drove away.
Police sent security camera footage of the incident to local media, who broadcast it on Thursday. A friend of Cheek’s saw the footage and told her about it, prompting Cheek to surrender to police. Cheek was arrested and charged with hit and run and released on bail shortly thereafter
