Smyrna Pedestrian Killed Sunday

A Smyrna man died at a local hospital after he was hit by a car while he was crossing a busy roadway on Sunday night, Smyrna police said.

Ryan Holt was trying to navigate the intersection of South Cobb and Pinehill drives at approximately 9:27 p.m. when he was struck. He was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police are reminding the general public that many roads in Smyrna are heavily traveled and ask that pedestrians only use crosswalks to cross streets and ask that drivers maintain reasonable speeds and pay special attention for pedestrians crossing the street.
