Smyrna Police Release Description Of Suspects In Carrabba’s Slaying

Smyrna police have released a description of the suspects in the slaying outside a Cobb Carrabba's.

SMYRNA, GA -- Police in Smyrna need the public's help in finding the suspects who fatally shot a man during a meet-up to sell some shoes from a Craigslist ad. The slaying, which occurred in broad daylight Monday outside the Carrabba’s restaurant in the 2900 block of Cumberland Boulevard in Cobb County, has stunned the community.

After an initial investigation, Smyrna police are now looking for two people who fled the scene and remain at large. “Preliminary information suggests this was a Craigslist transaction that ended up going wrong,” Smyrna police Sgt. Louis Defense told local media.

There is no known relationship between the two people, police said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A witness told the AJC that he was inside the restaurant when he saw what he initially thought was a car crash: He saw one victim lying in a ditch and two others in an SUV.

On Tuesday, local police in partnership with Greater Atlanta Crime Stoppers released the following information on the suspect's description:

One suspect was described as a medium brown skin black male, 6’-6’03" tall, thin build, low cropped haircut, last seen wearing a sleeveless North Carolina blue shirt, North Carolina blue shorts, Nike North Carolina edition Michael Jordan sneakers. The second suspect was described as a dark skin, black male with small twist styled hair, thin build, and wearing glasses. They were last seen fleeing the area in an older model 4 door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima, with heavy faded paint on the trunk.

Smyrna police Sgt. Louis Defense told local media Monday the fact that the shooting happened during business hours shows how little regard the gunman has for human life. "Some of these individuals who are up to criminal activity -- they just don't have any fear."
