When officers approached the cab of the U-Haul, the GBI said Rooks was found dead with a gunshot wound. The GBI did not say which shot killed Rooks.

Officers still had the U-Haul blocked off around 11:30 a.m., when a Patch editor arrived at the scene.
Rooks’ body will be taken to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office for review.
