🌱 Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting Cancelled + Holiday Market

Here are the top three stories in and around Smyrna-Vinings today:

1. Cobb County's Mable House Arts Center will be displaying the gold place winning Team USA portfolio from the 2022 World Photographic Cup. Team USA tied with Team Mexico for the award. The exhibit will be on display from Sept. 29 through Nov. 11. There will be an exhibition reception on Oct. 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Cobb County)
2. Smyrna's Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on Sept. 28 has been canceled. As of Thursday evening, the city has not given a reason for the cancellation. The meeting has been rescheduled for Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Click for the meeting's proposed agenda. (City of Smyrna)
3. Smyrna's Handmade Holiday Market has been scheduled for Dec. 2 through Dec. 4. The market will be at Brawner Hall and Reed House. The city is currently accepting vendor applications for the market. The applications will be reviewed starting Oct. 3 with accepted vendors notified starting Oct. 10. Click for the application. • Keep Smyrna Beautiful's Document Shredding Event is scheduled for today from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The event will be at the Aline Wolfe Adult Recreation Center. Everyone is invited to attend. Only paper will be shredded — no binders. (City of Smyrna, GA Government via Facebook)
