Braves Get Certificate Of Occupancy For SunTrust Park

Cobb Fire Marshal & Building Department give final go, meaning the general public can enter the facility. First game is April 14.

SMYRNA, GA -- The Atlanta Braves can just about smell the freshly cut greens at their new ballpark. The baseball team recently received its certificate of occupancy from Cobb County.

The certificate means that after months of procedural paperwork after construction crews broke ground on the project in September 2014, the stadium has passed all its required inspections. In other words, SunTrust Park is open for business.

The Cobb Fire Marshal's Office and Building Department recently gave the final go, meaning the general public can occupy the facility.
