Suspect Remains At Large In Smyrna Police Shooting
After an hours-long manhunt for a male suspect in a police shooting, Smyrna Police said he remains at large on Friday.

SMYRNA, GA — Police are still searching for a suspect involved in a police shooting Thursday at Spring Road and Cumberland Boulevard.
Smyrna Police on Friday said the man was not located after a holdup alarm call at a check-cashing business led to the police shooting. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
The manhunt had the area shut down for hours and included responses from multiple police agencies, including Cobb County Police.

Police said the shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. when Smyrna officers were responding to the holdup alarm call. The encounter with the man led to the police shooting, and he ran from the scene, police said.

No officers were injured in the shooting, police said.
Smyrna Police's Criminal Investigation Division is overseeing the case. Police asked anyone with information on the case to email Smyrna detectives.
