  1. There's been an update on Savannah Sheats, an alumnus of Campbell High who had gone missing from her home. On Thursday afternoon, Atlanta police discovered Sheats in her vehicle. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities say Sheats' death was consistent with suicide. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. The Welcome to South Cobb Festival is headed to The Eddy at Riverview Landing in Smyrna on Saturday, Sep. 10. According to the event website, attendees can enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, wine tastings, and a massive kids' play area. Featured performers include R&B sensation Glenn Jones, former Blackstreet artist J-Stylz, and South Cobb's brightest up-and-coming musicians. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. The Piedmont Park Arts Festival is taking place in Midtown Atlanta, about 20 minutes from Vinings and 25 from Smyrna, this weekend. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, attendees can explore the works of over 250 visual artists. Food and beverage will also be available for purchase.   • Phoenix RCO, a recovery community organization in South Cobb, will host a Car & Bike Show on Aug. 28.
