Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

1. A suspect was indicted for a murder committed in August. As of yesterday (Dec. 16), Ambakisye Mizell was indicted in the deadly August shooting of Demetrius Dow at a Vinings apartment complex. He has been charged with malice murder, three counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, and an attempt to commit armed robbery. He is held without bond. (Subscription: MDJ Online)

Today (Dec. 17), you can drive around the city to enjoy your neighbor's light displays as part of Smyrna Bright Nights or attend a pop-up craft event at Smyrna History Museum & Train Depot.
