- Cobb County has announced students will be having a virtual learning day during the state's U.S. Senate runoff Election Day. Students will be learning through the Cobb Teaching and Learning System on Dec. 6. The online learning will allow election procedures to use several school buildings without education disruption. - The Cobb County Department of Transportation reports it will be installing lane closures along I-75 this weekend. The closures will be between South Marietta Parkway and North Marietta Parkway. The closures are necessary for bridge preservation activities. The lanes will reopen on Monday at 4:30 a.m. Plan travel accordingly. (Cobb County Courier)
- A Cobb County Superior Court Clerk has offered to reimburse Cobb County $84,000 in pocketed passport application fees. The fees are technically allowed to be pocketed by superior court clerks under state law. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's investigation revealed Connie Taylor pocketed over $25,000 in passport application fees over the last two years – significantly more than her state peers.
