Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

1. This week is an off-week for the Smyrna City Council. There will still be a Smyrna Tree Board meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Brawner Hall and a License & Variance Board meeting on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall, however. The Smyrna City Council will resume with a meeting on Monday. Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. (Cobb County Courier)
2. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service has recalled Bob Evans Farm Italian pork sausage product. According to the agency, customers were complaining about "thin blue pieces of rubber" in the meat. Numerous Cobb County grocery stores sell the product. 3. More than 50,000 registered voters in Cobb County cast a ballot in the first week of advance voting. The unofficial total was 51,779 ballots, according to Cobb County Elections. The individual day with the highest number of ballots was Friday. Advance voting will continue through Nov. 4 for the Nov. 8 General Election. (East Cobb News)
