Here's a look at what's open and closed in Smyrna on Good Friday and Easter.

SMYRNA, GA — Good Friday is April 15 this year, followed by Easter on Sunday. Some places will be closed in Cobb County to honor Good Friday.

Good Friday is the Friday before Easter, and the day Christians annually observe the commemoration of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

  • Cobb County government offices: Closed for Good Friday.
  • Smyrna garbage pick up: For residents within the city of Smyrna's city limits, trash pickup will be altered. Residents who normally receive garbage pickup service on Friday will have theirs picked up Thursday. No yard waste or large items will be picked up.
  • Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA): All schedules will run as normal.
  • Cobb County Public Library: All libraries will be closed for Good Friday and normal hours will resume April 16.
  • Cobb County School District: The district will be open for Good Friday
  • Municipal offices for the City of Smyrna: Closed for Good Friday.
  • Post offices: USPS offices will be open on Good Friday and Easter. UPS and FedEx will also be open on Good Friday, but both will be closed on Easter.
