Women's History Month: Smyrna To Show Film On Suffragists
Residents invited to Smyrna Library meeting room to watch film on Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
SMYRNA, GA -- Smyrna is celebrating Women's History Month by exploring the lives of two pioneers of the U.S. suffragist movement.
Each week in March, residents are invited to gather in the Smyrna Library meeting room to watch a portion of a Ken Burns documentary on Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
Stanton, born in 1815, was a leading figure in the abolitionist movement and later focuses her efforts on the women.

Born in 1820 into a Quaker community, Anthony met Stanton in the middle part of the century and dedicated her life to women's causes.
The viewings will be open to the public and there is no reservation required.
