  1. The Atlanta Braves will be attempting to topple Smyrna's Zack Wheeler today, Oct. 12, during the National League Division Series Game Two. Wheeler is the hometown ace of the Philadelphia Phillies. During his 24 starts against the Atlanta Braves, he has posted an impressive 3.16 ERA. During the 2022 postseason, Wheeler has posted a 2.82 ERA. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  2. Multiple schools in Cobb County went into lockdown on Monday afternoon. The lockdown was prompted by "human error" that issued a "code red" at several schools. The issue is being treated by the district as a personnel matter. The district assures the community that there was no threat to students or staff during the incident. (11 Alive)
  3. Cobb County Public Safety officials report that they are ready for the large Atlanta Braves crowds. Officials have been preparing for traffic flow, crowd management, and resident safety during the team's postseason run. The Smyrna Police Department is working with the Marietta Police Department to provide security during the playoffs. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
