Police said that the Mercury soon lost control "for reasons unknown." The vehicle began to spin out, crossing the center lane and careening into the westbound lanes. That's when the Mercury was struck on the passenger side by a yellow 2007 Freightliner Columbia 120 tractor, which was heading westbound.
