SCHS Volunteer Instructor Joins Local Firm as HR Director

John Jakovenko joined Morris, Manning & Martin on Dec. 5 as Director of Human Resources. As a member of Junior Achievement of Georgia, Jakovenko also volunteers his time as an instructor at South Cobb High School.

Jakovenko has more than eight years of human resources experience, including expertise in employee relations and teambuilding, management training, leadership development, and business and human capital consulting.

He has certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Certified Legal Manager (CLM).

“John’s experience and enthusiasm are a perfect fit for our firm,” said MMM managing partner Louise Wells. “We will greatly benefit from his knowledge of HR issues, particularly his ability to design effective policy. We are pleased to have him on board.”

Prior to joining MMM, Jakovenko was the human resources director for a mid-sized law firm in Atlanta, where he built the human resources department from the ground up.

Before coming to Atlanta, he provided overall direction to the human resources department for a firm in Los Angeles. Jakovenko graduated magna cum laude with his B.S. from Florida State University and received his M.B.A. from the University of Buffalo, The State University of New York.
