The Cobb County commission and the Cobb Community Relations Council invites nominations for the 2012 Creating Community Awards.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize an individual, team or organization that has done something unique in making a positive contribution to the inclusion of any of the diverse communities in Cobb County. Those groups could be identified as race/ethnicity, age/generational, religious, disabled or handicapped, gender, etc.
The purpose of the awards is not only to recognize good works in the county, but also to provide a model and inspiration for the rest of the Cobb community.
Each commissioner will receive nominations from his or her district. A committee will be formed to choose each recipient. Nominations should be turned in to the appropriate commissioner by Jan. 12, 2012. A dinner will be held on March 15, 2012 at Piedmont Church to celebrate the award recipients and their work.
