Bank Robber Hits Wells Fargo in Cobb: Police
Do you recognize this thief? Police want to know.
SOUTH COBB, GA -- Cobb County police are looking for a bank robber that walked into a Wells Fargo Friday morning and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident happened around 10:37 a.m. at the bank's 4046 Austell Road location in Austell, police said.
The thief handed the teller a letter requesting money. After getting it, he fled on foot toward a McDonald's.

Stills from a surveillance video show the perpetrator retrieving a stash of bills and exiting the bank.
The incident is similar to a bank robbery that occurred in the Virginia-Highlands area of Midtown on Wednesday.

In that robbery, a perpetrator wearing a black hoodie, cap, jacket, pants and sunglasses entered the bank at 979 Virginia Avenue and gave a handwritten note to the teller demanding cash. After getting the money, he fled on foot as well, police said.
In the Cobb County robbery, police are looking for a black male with a thin build and mustache. Other descriptions include:
-- Height: 5’04”-5’06”
-- Age: 40s to early 50s
--Clothing: Dark sunglasses, long sleeve plaid shirt, gray hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and a black baseball cap.
