Cobb Student Fatally Stabbed; Classmate Charged
A 17-year-old boy was killed in a stabbing, and a 16-year-old boy is charged in connection with the deadly incident, Cobb police say.
MABLETON, GA — A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed Saturday at a Milam Creek Road home, and a 16-year-old boy is facing murder charges in connection with the incident, Cobb County Police said Tuesday.
The fatal stabbing happened around 5:45 p.m. Police said the teenage boy who was stabbed was found on the front porch of the home and a had a "sharp forced injury to his left torso."
He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The unnamed teenage suspect was arrested on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, police said.
Both teens were identified as Pebblebrook High School students, WAGA-TV reported.

Mableton Mayor Michael Owens identified the student who died as David Daniel. Owens did not fully detail the incident.
"My heart goes out to David’s family, friends, and the entire Pebblebrook community during this incredibly difficult time," Owens wrote. "... Please join me in keeping David’s loved ones, his classmates, and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers. Mableton is a strong and caring city, and together, we will support one another through this difficult time."
Cobb County School officials said counselors were provided to students and staff members.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of a Pebblebrook student over the weekend. While the incident occurred away from school, the loss is felt profoundly across the school community," school officials said in a statement to Patch.
