This new app helps you find great spots right here in South Cobb and anywhere else you travel throughout the U.S.

Because of this, South Cobb Patch is bringing back our Local Links column, which keeps you in the know about websites, apps and more that help us have easier lives in our communities.

This is just an introduction to an app that will not go live until April 17. MyCityWay Now is a one-stop-shop for everything you need to know about where you are standing and what surrounds you.

The location-based app can tell you everything from the nearest public restrooms, wi-fi hotspots, skating rinks and much more. You will even be able to order food directly from the app itself.

According to Mashable, the app's homepage is divided into nine sections:

  • Eat and Drink: section for dining and one for coffee.
  • Nightlife: offers selection of Bars & Pubs, Dancing, Music Venues and Comedy Clubs.
  • What's On: info about movies playing, theater and live entertainment events.
  • Places to Go: provides details about Art Galleries and Museums, Zoos and Aquariums, Libraries, Sporting and Recreation events, stuff for the kids and free events going on in town.
  • Getting Around: parking, taxi and other transportation information.
  • Shop: offers info about certain types of shops and provides one place to find all local bargains offered by sites like Groupon and LivingSocial.
  • Rejuvenate: shows you closest salons and spas.
  • Need: gives you what you need like pharmacies, WiFi, public restrooms and more.
  • Travel: use this when traveling to find local airports, hotels and tours.

If you’re interested in giving the app a try, you can sign up on the company’s website to get an email on April 17 when the app hits the store.
