South Cobb State Reps to Hold Town Hall Meeting Thursday
State Reps. Alisha Morgan and David Wilkerson will discuss issues of the 2012 legislative session and answer questions from constituents.
State Rep. Alisha T. Morgan (D-Austell) will co-host a Cobb County Town Hall meeting with State Rep. David Wilkerson (D-Austell) Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South Cobb Community Center, 620 Lions Club Drive in Mableton.
The town hall meeting provides an opportunity for constituents to learn about the 2012 legislative session. Expected topics include unemployment, funding for public education, redistricting for local governments and several proposals to require drug testing requirements for individuals, including those receiving unemployment benefits.
"I look forward to hearing from my constituents on the issues the General Assembly will be addressing during the upcoming session. I expect us to see legislation dealing with transportation, tax reform, and the Georgia Pre-k program. It's important to hear the voices of the community as we head back to the Capitol," said Wilkerson.

“We do these Town Hall meetings because the decisions we make at the Capitol impact our daily lives,” Morgan added. “The process doesn’t work without hearing from the people we represent.”
