"Heaven gained a beautiful angel. I'm creating this page because my family was involved in a terrible accident Saturday," the page, set up by Miguel's older sister Mayra Michelle Kreb, says.

"We were all traveling home from Mexico to Georgia. We were crossing Texas when we got hit. The driver that hit us was under the influence and on the wrong side of the road on I-35. My husband was driving as he tried to swerve in order to avoid being hit but it was too late. We got struck on the passenger side all the way down to the rear of the car causing the slide door to fly off."

Miguel hit his head in the crash, causing internal bleeding, the GoFundMe says.

"My mom and cousin were thrown from the car causing them broken bones. Me and my 2-year-old son got cuts and burns but we're fine. My dad got a broken rib, and my little brother Miguel bumped his head causing his brain to bleed internally; A terrible nightmare that's gonna take us time to recover. We were all taken via ambulance to the hospital where my brother later passed."

Miguel was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m. Sunday at University Hospital in Texas, according to a warrant obtained by the San Antonio Express-News.

The GoFundMe account had reached more than $6,000 of its $10,00 goal as of Wednesday morning.
