Temporary rental assistance is not stabilized housing

Rooted in the community

From the desk of Monica DeLancy
The work continues this is the campaign

“We can’t afford to slow down not when our students are struggling in school because they don’t know where they’ll sleep next week. That’s why I’ve stepped up. I bring the lived experience, the strategy, and the fire to push this movement forward. I’m not here to wait for permission I’m here to drive change, with or without a title”

When students have stable homes, they perform better in school. By investing in housing solutions and inclusive community engagement, we unlock long-term academic success for underserved populations.

Temporary rental assistance that shuffles families into substandard, unsafe housing is not the solution. Real stability means dignified, permanent homes not bandaid fixes in broken systems." They know what real stability looks like and it's not a temporary lease in a moldy, neglected building

Families deserve more than a roof they deserve a safe, healthy environment where their children can thrive academically and emotionally. Not being afraid to hold landlords and housing authorities accountable for habitability standards

The meetings and workshops I attend leads back to housing. The communities I visit to speak with residents leads to concerns about their apartments.

A person with my strengths, my experience, and my commitment is exactly what's needed right now. I’m here to keep the foot on the gas pedal because this community deserves better than broken promises and half-measures.

"What I do isn’t for the titles, the awards, or the recognition it’s for our next generation. That’s what matters most. Every action I take is about building something lasting, so our children can grow up with stability, opportunity, and dignity. If we don’t fight for them now, who will?"

"I respect those who run for office, but I also know the truth change happens long before a vote is cast. “
The day-to-day grind of organizing, advocating, and showing up for our people doesn’t stop for politics. That’s where I choose to stay rooted.

Stay Thriving
