Update: Gas Leak Under Control at Sanibel Drive SW and Cumberland Way
The leak was stopped before 8 p.m.

Updated 8:37 p.m.: The Gwinnett county fire department says the gas leak is now under control. The gas leak is now under control. Streets have been reopened and occupants of nearby homes have been allowed to return. Original story: Gwinnett county firefighters are on the scene of a natural gas leak at the intersection of Sanibel Drive SW and Cumberland Way in unincorporated Stone Mountain.
The intersection has been closed and homes in the immediate area have been evacuated as a precautionary measure, according to a release from Capt. Tommy Rutledge.
An Atlanta Gas Light crew is also at the location, trying to stop the leak, the release states:

Crews found a strong odor of natural gas and an active leak on arrival. The leak was caused by a utility contractor who hit a 2-inch gas service line while digging with a tractor.
The intersection is closed and firefighters have evacuated houses in the immediate hot zone perimeter as a precautionary measure. There are no injuries reported.
According to the release states that "gas vapors are readily dissipating in the atmosphere, limiting the hazard."
