Police say a double shooting that appeared to be a murder-suicide was actually a double murder that killed a young girl and a woman.
STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Police say the fatal shooting of a woman and girl that appeared to be a murder-suicide last week in Stone Mountain was actually a double murder, and the surviving man is facing charges.
DeKalb County Police initially said a woman in her 30s killed a girl older than age 10, injured the man and died by suicide in a shooting around 1:15 a.m. Friday during a domestic dispute at Chatfield Drive.
However, on Friday night, police said the incident is now being investigated as a double murder and not a murder-suicide.
