"Jurassic Park 3D," "Evil Dead": Trailers and Reviews

This week we've got a compilation of reviews of two movies playing at AMC Stonecrest 16 in Lithonia.

"Jurassic Park 3D" (Rated PG-13)

Can you believe the movie "Jurassic Park," based on Michael Crichton's novel, is 20 years old? I remember holding onto my husband's arm rather tightly (and burying my face in his shoulder) during some of the more intense scenes.

Here's what a few critics are saying about the re-release in 3D:

The 3D conversion really does make you feel like you're watching a whole new movie. From a technical perspective, the conversion is remarkable. "Evil Dead" (Rated R)

Make no mistake, horror movies are definitely NOT my cup of tea -- ever. But for those who have been waiting for this 1980s remake, or if you're just feeling really brave, here's what a few critics are saying about "Evil Dead":

Putting Jane Levy (TV’s “Suburgatory”) in the role of Mia may very well be the best bit of horror movie casting since Naomi Watts in “The Ring.” This is a breakout performance for her. Her energy — whether it’s nervous, frenetic, scared — is infectious. -David Blaustein, ABC News

The gore quotient is up, through the roof, to the moon. It’s rousing in its way. Gasps, moans, general writhing — and that’s just the audience. There’s a new prologue that comes on like torture porn and takes a switchback turn: nice.
