Man Robbed of $1,400 in Rent, Car Note, Electric Bill Money

Inside the police reports: the incident happened Feb. 1 near the man's apartment, according to the DeKalb incident report.

A man who had $1,400 on him to pay various bills, including his rent, was taking out the trash when he was robbed by two men earlier this month, he told DeKalb county police.

The incident happened in the 4800 block of White Ash Cv. in unincorporated Stone Mountain on Feb.1 around 6:30 p.m.

According to the report, the victim said he walked to his vehicle, put the keys on the seat, then remembered he needed to bring the trash from his apartment to the Dumpster.

He walked over to a Dumpster, a few feet away from his apartment, the report states, when he noticed two males standing near the trash cans. One of the suspects asked him for a cigarette; the victim told him he didn't have one.

One of the men walked up behind him, pulled out a black gun from his front waist area but did not point it at the victim, according to the report. The victim said the suspects did not say anything.

The victim shouted for them not to kill him, the report states.

One of the suspects removed an envelope from the victim's left upper coat pocket. The man told police the envelope contained $1,400, which he was going to use to get money orders for his rent, car note, insurance, Georgia Power and Metro PCS.

He said the suspects didn't search him for anything else, including his wallet, which had no money in it, the police report states.
