LITHONIA, GA -- Drivers in DeKalb County will have to adjust their commuting routes around Union Grove Road for a couple days next week. The road will be shut intermittently between Southern Grove Road and Margaret Court for two days, the county said Monday.The closure will begin Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The construction work is necessary to facilitate the installation of a new sewer main for the Stonecrest-Lithonia area.The road fix comes as DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond touts a special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) that can be used to help improve the county's roads.Image via Pixabay
