Standout Scholars: Stone Mountain's Linda Cleaves Earns Graduate Degree from University of Memphis

Students from Stone Mountain and Lithonia have recently achieved the following honors, according to information from readMedia Newswire:

• Nimat Shahid, of Stone Mountain, made the Fall 2012 President's List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 445 students recognized for scholastic achievement.
• Linda F Cleaves of Stone Mountain earned a Graduate Certificate degree in African American Literature from the University of Memphis during commencement ceremonies Dec. 16, 2012.

These students were named to the Dean's List at Brenau University for the fall 2012 term:

• Diamond M. Als from Lithonia, whose major is early childhood education, is a senior at Brenau.
• Sheree Denise Bell from Stone Mountain, whose major is mass communication, is a senior at Brenau.
• Olivia D. Fulmore from Stone Mountain, whose major is special education, is a freshman at Brenau.

Some local area students were named to the Merit List at Brenau University for the fall 2012 term:

• Ashley Nicole Maag from Stone Mountain, whose major is health science, is a sophomore at Brenau.
