The Stone Mountain Community Improvement District increased its patrols in the area around Vulcan Shoes on Hammermill Road in Tucker after the company alerted the CID to incidents of someone shattering the glass to get into the showroom and a person entering its parking lot, according to the CID's spring newsletter.

Later, when a suspicious person was spotted in the employee parking lot, this time an officer was there to register the tag number and tell the person to keep it moving, the newsletter states. Vulcan was pleased with the results.

Stone Mountain Bakery's Move On the Way

Stone Mountain Bakery hasn't moved into the former Kalonji space down Main Street in Stone Mountain Village just yet -- the fire marshal needs to pay a visit first -- but the owner tells Patch once that's completed, the move should be very soon.

Until then the bakery is still operating from its current location, at 975 1/2 Main St.
