No Injuries After Plane Lands On I-985N, Crashes Into Tractor-Trailer

A small plane made an emergency landing on I-285N in Gwinnett County Tuesday afternoon.

SUWANEE, GA — No one was injured after a small plane made an emergency landing on I-985N Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

According to the FAA, the plane was a single-engine Piper PA-28. The plane landed around 4 p.m. on I-985 north past Interstate 85, 511 Georgia said Tuesday.

Gwinnett County firefighters responded around 4:15 p.m. to the scene. The department reported the small plane crashed into a tractor-trailer.

The two people on the plane were able to deboard before fire crews arrived, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported and there were no active leaks, fire officials said.

The Gwinnett County Haz-Mat team offloaded 10 gallons of fuel from the plane, fire officials said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is determining the cause of the emergency landing.
