1. Suwanee Police investigating after resident scammed out of more than $25,000 (accesswdun.com) — Suwanee Police are investigating after a local resident lost more than $25,000 to scammers posing as Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office officers and demanding bond and warrant payments. The suspects used spoofed phone numbers, forged documents, and in‑person cash pickups over two days. Police stress that legitimate agencies will not demand payment over the phone and are still seeking the suspects.
   

2. Over 60,000 Pounds of Fully Cooked Chicken Recalled After Labeling Error (goodhousekeeping.com) — A major chicken recall involves Suzanna’s Kitchen right here in Suwanee, where more than 62,000 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken shipped to restaurants nationwide were mislabeled and contain undeclared soy. While it likely didn’t reach home kitchens, local restaurant owners should check their freezers and discard any affected cases to protect customers with soy allergies.
   

3. Approximately 63,000 Pounds Of Chicken Has Been Recalled (southernliving.com) — A Suwanee-based company, Suzanna’s Kitchen, has recalled nearly 63,000 pounds of breaded frozen chicken because the packaging fails to disclose soy, a common allergen. The mislabeled Koch Foods cases were shipped to restaurants nationwide, and federal officials urge restaurants to discard any affected product. No reactions have been reported, but people with soy allergies could face serious health risks.
   

4. Bulldogs linebacker CJ Allen named to AP All-America first team defense (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Suwanee gets a shout-out on the national stage as Ohio State lineman Kayden McDonald, listed as being from Suwanee, joins Georgia’s CJ Allen on the AP All-America first-team defense. The honor puts a local hometown on the map alongside standout players from across Georgia’s top programs.
   

5. Nathan Peacock (ddtonline.com) — A Greenville, Mississippi family is mourning Nathan Ulysses Peacock, whose surviving son Nathan lives in Suwanee. The longtime Greenville resident, business owner, and devoted Catholic died December 9, with services held last week in Mississippi. His large extended family, including children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren across several states, is remembering his faith, work ethic, and love of conversation.
