Suwanee Resident Writes Debut Collection of Short Stories

A storytelling tone runs through folksy tales.

Anthony Trendl of Suwanee, Georgia has published The Raging Giant Blue Goldfish: 22 Short Stories, his debut collection of short stories through Tree Fort Books.

Trendl says, “These are the kinds of stories grandfathers used to tell on porches. They are warm and playful, even the ghost stories.”

The influence of Appalachian Mountain tales, Hans Christian Andersen, and American tall tales is evident.

In between his fervent and powerful words, you’ll hear the rumbling of the banker and the undertaker, not sure of what to make of the speech. Eloquence like what came out of the likes of James H. Burlemeier III just wasn’t heard every day.”
