Fire Destroys Shed Near Allatoona Lake In Cherokee County
The fire was reported Wednesday afternoon behind a home on Aspen Lane.
WOODSTOCK, GA — A shed at a home near Allatoona Lake was destroyed in a fire reported Wednesday afternoon near Woodstock.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services firefighters were dispatched to the call around 3 p.m. Jan. 30 at a home in the 300 block of Aspen Lane, which is off Myrtle Road.
A neighbor called Cherokee County dispatchers to report the shed, tree and a power pole were engulfed in flames.

"The caller also stated that the fire was in close proximity to a house," Cherokee County fire said in a press release.

Cherokee Battalion 1 crews arrived at the scene and reported the "wind driven fire" was threatening structures in the immediate area. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to a nearby residence.
The shed and its contents were destroyed. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
