Marine Veteran Opens Craft Cocktail Bar 'Valor' To Bring Community, Music & Resilience To Oahu
After serving in Afghanistan, Christopher Dingley created a welcoming space at Pearlridge Center for live music, craft drinks & connection.

Whether it’s serving as a military officer or stepping up as a first responder, it takes a rare combination of dedication, resilience and heart to take on these roles. And for many of these individuals, that same drive carries over into life beyond the badge.
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to spotlight active-duty military members, veterans and first responders who continue to lead, inspire and give back in meaningful ways across their communities.
After serving five years – including a deployment to Marjah, Afghanistan – U.S. Marine Corp veteran Christopher Dingley returned home with a vision: to build a space where community, resilience and hospitality converge.

As reported by Hawaii News Now, that vision became Valor, a craft cocktail bar and live music venue located at Pearlridge Center Wai Makai in central Oahu. Drawing on years of experience in luxury hospitality and championship-level mixology, Dingley created Valor as more than a business, but a tribute to perseverance.
“During my time in the Marine Corps, valor was a word we lived by,” he shared. “With getting this concept off the ground, it was a struggle every day… but we woke up and kept striving to keep this dream alive.”

Valor offers a family-friendly atmosphere with accessible prices, live music on weekends and community-forward design. Patrons can enjoy craft cocktails, bring in food from nearby vendors and gather in a safe, welcoming space. For Dingley, it’s about creating a place for people to reconnect, recharge and celebrate overcoming life’s challenges: “The people of Hawaii are a strong community. We battle and we overcome the lows. And now Valor is a place we can celebrate.”
