Honolulu siblings charged in first game room case (kitv.com) — Honolulu prosecutors have charged four siblings in the first case using Hawaii’s new game room law, accusing them of allowing illegal gambling on properties they own. Each faces multiple Class C felony counts, with officials saying the case signals a tougher crackdown on illegal game rooms across Oahu.
   

2. New Chief selected to lead Honolulu Ocean Safety Department (khon2.com) — Honolulu’s newly formed Ocean Safety Department has chosen interim director Kurt Lager as its first permanent chief, following a tense but unanimous commission vote. With backing from Mayor Blangiardi, Lager plans to secure more funding, stabilize staffing, and upgrade facilities and coverage across Oahu’s beaches to strengthen public safety for residents and visitors.
   

3. Rising premiums, reduced subsidies may push Hawaii residents off ACA plans (hawaiinewsnow.com) — Honolulu-based state leaders are scrambling to keep thousands of Hawaii residents from losing Affordable Care Act coverage after Congress let enhanced subsidies expire. Gov. Josh Green is proposing a new state tax credit to replace some lost aid, but many Honolulu-area policyholders are already facing steep premium hikes, downgrading plans, or risking going uninsured while details of state help remain uncertain.
   

4. No. 10 Dakota Wesleyan Stuns No. 3 Campbellsville in Hawaii (kornradio.com) — Honolulu hoops fans just saw a major upset at the Shark Tank, where No. 10 Dakota Wesleyan crushed No. 3 Campbellsville 83–55 in women’s basketball. Behind a dominant night from Avery Broughton and huge rebounding edge, Dakota Wesleyan controlled the game from start to finish before heading home for its next matchup.
