Spectrum Awards $10,000 to Hawaii Foodbank
Five-Time Spectrum Employee Community Grant Winner Provides Meals to Families in Need

Spectrum announced a donation of $10,000 to the Hawaii Foodbank through the company’s national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants (SECG).
The Hawaii Foodbank combats hunger and provides critical emergency food relief following natural disasters and emergency crisis. The funding will help provide food to vulnerable members of the local community already facing hunger every day.
The $10,000 Spectrum Employee Community Grant award was presented by Spectrum employees on Jan. 4 to the Hawaii Foodbank at its Honolulu facility. Sen. Glenn Wakai and Rep. Linda Ichiyama participated in the celebration with Spectrum executives.

“We are very grateful for Spectrum’s ongoing commitment to Hawai‘i Foodbank and the communities we serve,” said Amy Miller, Hawai‘i Foodbank President and CEO. “This grant will help us further our work toward a future where everybody in Hawai‘i has access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round.”

"Since its inception 40 years ago, the Hawaii Foodbank employees and volunteers have worked tirelessly to support the Foodbank’s mission to nourish our ‘ohana today while we work to end hunger tomorrow,” said Chun-Ming. “I’m humbled and so grateful for the Spectrum Employee Community Grant for the generous donation of $10,000. This donation will go a long way to ensure that no one in Hawai‘i goes hungry.”
This is the fifth Spectrum Employee Community Grant awarded to the Hawaii Foodbank since 2019, bringing the total donation to $40,000 for the organization from Spectrum.
“Spectrum and the Foodbank are a formidable force against hunger in our community. I am thrilled to see that their partnership once again leading to less hunger in Hawaii,” said State Sen. Glenn Wakai. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Foodbank on receiving their fifth grant from Spectrum.”
“As many of our o’hana struggle to meet basic needs, Spectrum’s support of the Hawaii Foodbank is truly commendable,” said Rep. Linda Ichiyama. “By addressing the dire issue of food insecurity, the Hawaii Foodbank affirms their commitment that no one goes hungry, helping to ensure a compassionate and resilient community.”
Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided funding to nearly 430 local nonprofits in 33 states throughout the company’s service area since its inception in July 2019.
“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re proud to provide support to vital community organizations with which our local employees are already volunteering their time and talent,” said Gregg Fujimoto, Spectrum Senior Vice President. “Together, we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work in Hawaii.”
Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training and neighborhood safety. Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s more than 101,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
