Happy Wednesday, neighbors! Let's start today off on an informed note. Here's everything happening around Boise today.

The Boise Daily has it all today. Two men face charges for shooting an eagle just outside Boise at the Morley Nelson conservation area, while shoppers could soon find shelves missing some items at the local Fred Meyer stores. Sneaking beer into Bronco football games may soon be a thing of the past, and the city has rethought a land swap. Finally, a local hospital saw protestors on its front lawn.

  1. Wyatt Noe and Colten Ferdinand are facing federal charges after investigators say they shot an eagle inside the Morley Nelson conservation area earlier this year. KTVB's Katie Terhune reports on what took place and the possible consequences for the two men. (KTVB.com)
  2. Fans sitting at Albertson's Stadium watching the Broncos play a home game will be able to hoist a cold one after a touchdown. Boise State University announced alcohol will be available starting in the fall. (Boise Patch)
  3. Shoppers in local Fred Meyer stores could be looking at empty shelves. Don Day with BoiseDev writes the union representing warehouse workers have approved a strike. If a strike extends, shipments to stores would suffer. (boisedev.com)
  4. The good news for a large contingent of neighbors is Boise Mayor McLean has called off the Murgoitio land swap, the one trading a proposed park for foothill land. The bad news for the group asking for the park to be built is the city is requesting an appraisal before placing the land up for bid. KTVB's Devin Ramey has the story. (KTVB.com)
  5. Protestors and CBS-2's Trevor Fay were both at St. Luke's Meridian campus as a throng rallied for personal choice and against the hospital's decision for all employees to receive the COVID vaccine. (Idaho News)

  • Join Dondi Black and Golden Eagle Audubon for a beautiful and scenic hike on Freddy's Stack Rock trail. Be prepared to hike up to 5 miles on uneven terrain. This will be a slow paced hike to enjoy the birds, views and native plants along the way. Know your limitations! Wear shoes with good traction, bring water, snacks and hiking poles if desired. Shade will be limited but it should be cooler at the higher elevation. Wear layers. We will be hiking out and back on Freddy's Stack Rock Trail. (6:30 a.m.)
