Boise , Caldwell school districts to take part in study to prevent teen suicide (idahonews.com) — Boise School District will join a major five-year teen suicide-prevention study starting in the 2026–27 school year, comparing two evidence-based programs in local classrooms. Backed by St. Luke’s and national partners, the BRITE Trial will enroll thousands of Idaho students to see which approach best reduces suicidal behaviors, with findings meant to guide school and policy decisions statewide.
   

2. Military academy alumni reflect on service and leadership at INL ahead of Army-Navy game (newswise.com) — A Boise-area native, A.J. Harris, is among several military academy graduates now leading major national security and energy projects at Idaho National Laboratory. Their stories show how experiences from West Point, Annapolis and the Air Force Academy shape the mission-focused culture at INL, which many Boise residents work for or interact with across eastern Idaho.
   

3. Wendy Horman announces resignation from the Idaho Legislature (ktvb.com) — From Boise, state leaders are confirming that Rep. Wendy Horman will resign from the Idaho House on Jan. 5, 2026, leaving a key budget-writing seat open. The Idaho Falls Republican is heading to Washington, D.C., to direct the federal Office of Child Care, taking Idaho-shaped priorities to a national stage.
   

4. Child remains in critical condition, sibling shows improvement after destructive Idaho storm (ktvb.com) — Boise readers are following the recovery of two young siblings badly hurt by falling trees during Wednesday’s powerful windstorm in Twin Falls County, part of a system that battered much of Idaho. One child remains in critical condition but stable, while the other is showing small but hopeful signs of improvement, according to their uncle.
