Boise State looks at revamping Greenbelt through campus (boisedev.com) — Boise State University is planning a major upgrade to the Boise River Greenbelt segment running through campus, widening the path, adding new concrete, and improving lighting and safety features in coordination with the City of Boise. The project, still in the pre-application stage, would reroute Greenbelt traffic during construction and complements a new Riverfront Plaza near Albertsons Library aimed at enhancing river access, safety, and food options.

2. This Boise River bridge nearly failed. ACHD says a replacement is on the way (idahostatesman.com) — Drivers in southeast Boise should prepare for a major overhaul of the aging Eckert Road bridge over the Boise River near Barber Park, with construction targeted to start in October 2026. ACHD’s $30 million plan adds wider lanes, a roundabout, better bike and pedestrian access, and a Greenbelt underpass, but will require closing the bridge and Boise Avenue intersection with detours via East Parkcenter Boulevard.

Boise , Caldwell school districts to take part in study to prevent teen suicide (idahonews.com) — Boise School District students will be part of a major five-year study testing two leading school-based programs to reduce teen suicide, an urgent issue in Idaho. Starting in the 2026–27 school year, Boise and other Idaho districts will help researchers compare which curriculum better supports youth mental health, with results expected to guide future policies and programs statewide and nationally.

Kids injured by a falling tree while waiting for the bus are still critical, but stable, parents say (kivitv.com) — Two children from Twin Falls are in critical but stable condition at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in downtown Boise after a tree fell on them at their bus stop. Their parents are staying nearby at the Ronald McDonald House through 2025 while the kids undergo surgeries and rehab. Community fundraisers and donations have already topped $46,000 to help the family manage medical and living costs in Boise.
