Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- The doorbell cameras many of us use are designed to keep our families safe from thieves and those snatching our packages off our decks-oh, and the occasional mountain lion! A neighborhood in Eagle provided footage to Joe Parris and KTVB-TV of the wandering kitty. (KTVB.com)
- For the 67th year, the Boise Art Museum will hold the Art in the Park fundraiser. Complete with photos by Julianne Gee, The Arbiter provides information on the upcoming event. To be transparent, I still possess a chip and salsa bowl purchased from the event in the 1990s! (Boise State University The Arbiter Online)
- The situation taking place in Afghanistan is a world away for many living in Boise. The situation is front and center for one Boise family. KBOI-TV's Trevor Fay tells the story on a former U.S. Army translator and his family now living Boise and his worry over family members continuing to live in the war torn country. (Idaho News)
- Many Bronco alumni may not believe this, but many Bengal alumni currently live in Boise. Kevin Richert and IdahoEdNews report Holt Arena will undergo a two-year, multimillion-dollar facelift. A trio to Pocatello to see the results should be in the plans. (IdahoEdNews)
- If you are on the road on Highway 55 for a few days in McCall, take heed. Don Day, editor of BoiseDev, warns a dog became sick after swimming in Payette Lake. A veterinarian who treated the dog said it had symptoms that line up with exposure to a neurotoxin – like cyanobacteria or so-called HABs or harmful algal blooms. (BoiseDev)
