Boise Gives Green Light For 12 Neighborhood Projects

The Neighborhood Investment Program has announced the recipients of grants geared towards neighborhood improvements.

BOISE, ID — Boise Mayor McLean announced 12 neighborhood projects that will be funded through 'Energize Our Neighborhoods' Neighborhood Investment Program.

The Neighborhood Investment Program is a partnership between the City of Boise and City registered neighborhood associations.

The program funds comprehensive neighborhood plans and capital construction projects to help "enrich the lives of our citizens, enhance the identity and quality of life in our neighborhoods and encourage a strong sense of community". The program also funds mini-grants to support neighborhood communication and community-building.

The projects funded include:

- The Collister Neighborhood Association will receive $21,000 for traffic box wraps.

- The East End Neighborhood Association will receive $3,000 for flags on Warm Springs Avenue.

- The East End Neighborhood Association will receive $60,000 for a walking path at Adams Elementary.

- The Energize Program will receive $150,000 for Linear Park on Goddard.

- The Morris Hill Neighborhood Association will receive $24,000 for two bicyclists facilities and repair stations.

- The South Boise Village Neighborhood Association will receive $2,200 for traffic box wraps.

- The Southeast Neighborhood Association will receive $6,000 for four benches along the Oregon Trail Monument sites.

- The Southwest Ada County Alliance will receive $51,700 for the Molenaar Dog Park Shelter and drinking fountain.

- The Sunset Neighborhood Association will receive $51,000 for Sunset Park sunshades.

- The Neighborhood Investment Program will receive $131,100 for a construction contingency.

The total amount from the Neighborhood Investment Program is $500,000.

- The Energize Program will receive $67,477 for a crosswalk at 23rd and Bannock.

- The Lusk District will receive $221,000 for Greenbelt lighting.
