Morning, people of Boise! It's me again, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily.

Things are moving fast regarding the ethics hearing on Rep. Priscilla Giddings. The Boise Daily had the story completed on Monday's hearing when we received word on a committee decision to censure the White Bird Republican. We include the original story and the update here. Rains during the fire season is not always a good thing, and Meridian appears to need one more fast food establishment. For BSU fans, a new app is available, and Table Rock lovers will find a gate moved.

First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 103, low: 72.

  1. UPDATE: The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously to censure Rep. Priscilla Giddings for conduct unbecoming a member of the House. The committee also voted to remove her from the House Commerce and Human Resources Committee. Here is the story of day one of her ethics hearing. (Boise Patch)
  2. To the logical person, our recent rains were a good thing to all the fires burning around the state. However, torrential downpours like we experienced falling on ground stripped of all vegetation by fire has brought a new problem — mudslides. Boise State Public Radio's Rachel Cohen tells how a good thing is actually becoming a big problem for those fighting our fires. (Boise State Public Radio)
  3. Apparently, Meridian is in need of more Whoppers. Autum Robertson and BoiseDev report the City of Meridian has received an application for a third Burger King location. (boisedev.com)
  4. For lovers of Bronco athletics, a new app is available for your phone. Boise Patch has all the information on how to download the new app on your phone. (Boise Patch)
  5. After numerous reports of vandalism, drinking and other problems, staff of KTVB-TV report the Ada County Highway District Commission has approved a resolution that will move an access gate on Table Rock Road. (KTVB.com)
