Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Jurors in the Lori Vallow Daybell trial in Boise had an early day of it Wednesday. EastIdahoNews reporter Nate Eaton reports due to a death in the family of Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Blake, the court was recessed. Jurors will be back in the courtroom Thursday and Friday. (eastidahonews)
- A few local rivers are spilling over their banks as the water outlook appears good this year. CBS2 news staff write the Idaho Water Supply Committee supplied an outlook on river conditions and water supply on Wednesday. We are likely to see below average temperatures and below average precipitation for the next few weeks. (Idaho News)
- Depending on what area of Boise you live in appears to sway if you approve of Boise's new zoning code rewrite. BoiseDev editor Don Day spoke with a number of neighborhood associations around our town. While the Boise Heights Neighborhood Association supports the changes in the code, the South Cole Neighborhood Association is on the opposite side. Most of the 35 associations completed the survey but also added caveats to their answers. (boisedev.com)
- Many Boise residents understand the problems of having two jobs. This will be the case if local Idaho Representative Colin Nash is elected to the Boise City Council in the upcoming November election. The IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin writes Nash said he will likely leave the Idaho Legislature if he is successful in his election bid. Nash will be the incumbent for the council seat as he was recently appointed to fill the position of Elaine Clegg, who left her post in March to focus on her new role as CEO of Valley Regional Transit. (Idaho Capital Sun)
- "Avalanche Alley" is again open. KTVB-TV staff report the 12-mile stretch of Highway 21 has been cleared and is open to traffic. 90 percent of avalanches that affect highway travel in Idaho happen in this stretch that connects Lowman to Stanley. (KTVB.com)
