Idaho Actor Dies On Set Of New Movie

BOISE, ID — Jay Pickett, a Caldwell raised actor best known for his roles in numerous daytime dramas, died suddenly on Thursday while on the set of a new movie, "Treasure Valley".

Born in Spokane, Pickett was raised in Caldwell. He went on to have roles in "General Hospital", "Port Charles", "Days of Our Lives", and much more.

His most current role was as a writer, producer, creator and leading man in a local movie, "Treasure Valley." At the time of his death, Pickett was sitting on a horse, waiting for a scene in the movie.

Pickett received his BA degree in acting at Boise State University and his MFA in acting from UCLA. Pickett and his wife, Elena, resided in California and have two daughters, Maegan and Michaela, and a son, Tyler.
