Montessori Academy Students Donate Pet Supply Items to Local Shelter

Students worked together to collect pet supplies for local animals

Students at Montessori Academy schools in Boise and Meridian recently donated more than 60 pounds of food and other pet supply items to the Idaho Humane Society, the largest and oldest animal welfare organization and veterinary charity in the state. Students at the two schools worked together to collect dog toys, food, and treats for the animals supported by the organization.

Montessori Academy instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
