One Dead After Boise Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle rider is dead after colliding with a garbage truck on W. Executive Drive in Boise.

BOISE, ID — One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a garbage truck took place on Wednesday evening.

Around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Boise Police responded to a vehicle vs motorcycle crash near the 11000 block of W. Executive Dr. A preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle rider was traveling westbound in the turn lane, attempting to pass other vehicles, when he failed to negotiate a curve and collided with a garbage truck traveling eastbound.

The motorcycle rider, an adult male who was wearing a helmet, was taken to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries. The garbage truck driver was not injured.

The Ada County Coroner will release the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

The Boise Police Department crash reconstruction team responded to the scene along with detectives and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
