Failing bridge could see replacement, plus roundabout near Barber Park (boisedev.com) — A major fix is coming to the aging Eckert Road bridge in southeast Boise, and neighbors are being asked to weigh in now. Ada County Highway District’s draft plan includes replacing two bridges, adding a roundabout at Boise Avenue and Eckert, and building a new multi-use path. Construction could start in fall 2026, with an open house this week at Barber Park.
   

2. Boise State to close downtown merchandise store. Why? What the university says (idahostatesman.com) — Boise State is closing its downtown Bronco Shop on Main Street this Saturday and consolidating operations into the Student Union Building on campus. The university says centralizing the bookstore will cut costs and send more revenue directly into Boise State scholarships after a year of record sales.

Boise introduces over 190 affordable housing units with Denton Apartments (ktvb.com) — Boise has opened the new Denton Apartments complex, adding 191 income-restricted units in central Boise and bringing the city’s total new affordable homes to 600 since 2020. Located near Saint Alphonsus off Curtis Road, the four-story project includes family units, on-site amenities, and dedicated apartments for families exiting homelessness, funded largely through remaining federal rental assistance dollars.
