Pillar To Post Home Inspectors Comes to Area
After Two Decades with Retail's Giant This Fan of Construction Industry Will Own His Business with Largest Home Inspection Brand

(Boise, ID - August 15, 2023)-Van Le Fevre told it like it was. He said working for the world’s largest private employer gave him plenty of opportunities and he was treated well. But what it couldn’t provide, understandably, was a feeling that he was doing something for himself. Now the 41-year-old Caldwell, Idaho resident will get that chance when he launches operations this month as an owner within the Pillar To Post Home Inspectors® network, the largest home inspection franchise in North America. Le Fevre will serve homebuyers and sellers throughout Canyon, Ada, Elmore, Owyhee, Boise, Gem, Payette, Washington, Valley, and Adams counties.
Le Fevre spent 22 years in the retail industry, all of it with Walmart, which employs more than two million people globally. He spent the last decade as manager of a store in Meridian, Idaho, where he built a team of more than 300 employees. “It was a very challenging and always changing environment, but it was also very rewarding,” Le Fevre said.
But Le Fevre certainly isn’t the first – nor will he be the last – to grow weary of being employed by a corporate behemoth “that was so large, they couldn’t possibly focus on their employees and truly invest in their individual success,” he said.

Le Fevre said he reached a point where he wanted to control his future and build a business in which he could truly make a difference for himself and others. “Walmart was very good to me and provided opportunities at every turn, but ultimately, it was still someone else that was telling me where to turn,” he said. “I left the retail giant because I was tired of working for a massive bureaucracy and wanted more freedom to build my future the way I wanted.”
Le Fevre had considered getting into the home inspection industry for several years. His father was a contractor and Le Fevre had been around the construction trades his entire life. He researched multiple franchises and also considered entering the industry on his own, but he found a perfect fit after performing his due diligence with Pillar To Post Home Inspectors.

“The construction trades industry is something that I have remained close to since I could walk,” Le Fevre said. “A home inspection career gives me an opportunity to take all of the things my dad taught me over the last 40 years and put them to good use helping and educating others and giving piece of mind to homebuyers during one of the most exciting, but frightening, times of their lives.”
Le Fevre’s timing for launching his new career couldn’t be better. Home inspections have become a vital part of the real estate sector, providing buyers and sellers with reliable information about the condition and value of a property. The U.S. building inspector industry, measured by revenue, is estimated to have a market size of $4.9 billion according to global research firm IBISWorld. Pillar to Post Home Inspectors has been at the forefront with its outstanding and innovative technologies that were introduced just in time to provide contactless home inspections during the pandemic.
Le Fevre is a perfect fit for Pillar To Post Home Inspectors and the business model affords him the opportunity to structure his business as he sees fit, whether hiring employees or doing it all himself.
“I’m counting on my past experience to help me build a great team and build a business that truly serves the customer by building relationships within the community,” Le Fevre said.
Today’s homebuyer – especially in the ever-changing housing market – would be wise to turn to Pillar To Post Home Inspectors, given some recent findings. According to Clever Real Estate, 72 percent of homebuyers who purchased in 2021 or 2022 have regrets over their home purchase. The most common factors that contributed to their remorse were spending too much money and rushing into buying.
And there are some other important considerations to mull in addition to a home’s square footage and number of bathrooms. Clever’s survey also found that almost half of homebuyers – 43 percent – made financial concessions like waiving a home inspection amid fierce competition for homes, according to CNBC. And skipping that home inspection can be costly. A survey from insurance firm Hippo found that most homeowners – 77 percent – had to pay for an unexpected repair within the first year of owning a house. Two-thirds of respondents said those fixes cost more than $1,000, said the CNBC report.
“What excites me about things here locally is the new construction boom,” Le Fevre said. “The amount of homes being built is unprecedented and it is exciting to see the growth throughout the area.”
