In the middle of this scorching weekend, we offer stories involving the early morning shooting death by Boise Police and more protests at local hospitals involving mask mandates. A Garden City man is heading to prison for a long time and skateboard fans in the valley are watching their sport at the Olympics for the first time. Finally, students in Idaho schools will soon see changes in the way mental health is handled.

1. An early morning investigation into a report of trespassing ended with a suspect dead after Boise Police state he refused commands and pointed a gun at officers. (Boise Patch)
